RESIN COMPOSITESA World of Possibilities in Resins for Technological Innovation

Resin composites offer a wide range of applications in different sectors. These materials combine high quality resins with reinforcing fibers to achieve exceptional strength, durability and lightweight properties. Resin composites are used in the construction of aircraft, automobiles, ships, architectural structures, as well as in the manufacture of industrial parts, sports equipment and consumer products. Their versatility and performance make them an outstanding choice for a variety of technology needs.

ORTHOPHTHALIC/ISOPHTHALIC POLYESTER RESIN

We offer a wide range of unsaturated polyester resins, suitable for any application and process related to the GRP industry.

Classification:

GENERAL PURPOSE RESINS

  • Orthophthalic: to obtain air and room temperature cured laminates, either by manual lamination or simultaneous spraying.
  • Thixotropic, Pre-accelerated
  • Low viscosity: for RTM, RTM Light and Infusion processes.
  • Ecological – DCPD: low emission and low styrene content, to obtain air curing laminates at room temperature by contact and simultaneous spraying.

HIGH CHEMICAL RESISTANCE RESINS

  • Isophthalic: UV and hydrolysis resistant and low water absorption, especially suitable for the marine and sanitary industries.

OTHER RESINS

  • Flexible: Specially formulated for waterproofing cement, concrete or wood surfaces. It is also used to be mixed with rigid resins to modify their elasticity.
  • Food: Isophthalic resin, non-thixotropic, food-certified.
  • Of molds: unsaturated polyester resin for the manufacture of molds with a deformation temperature under load higher than 90ºC.

FLAME RETARDANT RESIN

Unsaturated polyester resins with improved fire performance, NON-CHLORINATED AND NON-HALOGENATED base, and reinforced with organic and mineral additives. Specially formulated to meet the requirements of parts manufactured by simultaneous hand lay-up and spraying methods. On request, they can be supplied inhibited, recommended during the summer months.

CLASSIFICATIONS:

VINYLESTER RESIN and BISPHENOLIC RESIN

HIGH CHEMICAL RESISTANCE RESINS

  • Bisphenolic: Resistant to high temperatures and to a wide range of aqueous solutions of inorganic acids, salts and bases. It is recommended for the construction of all types of GRP chemical equipment, including storage tanks, reactors, pipes, chimneys, pipelines, piping and coatings on steel and concrete.
  • Vinilester: high chemical resistance, suitable for the production of GRP tanks, pipes and coatings for handling liquid hydrocarbons.

They also perform well for wood impregnation.

Properties:

  • Low viscosity
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Good performance in humid environments
  • Compatible hardeners
  • LLoyd’s Register approved for shipbuilding

Applications:
Manual stratification, Infusion, RTM, winding.
